Like I said, if you'd like help, shout. I don't have much modding experience outside of work, but I have a very flexible schedule and lots of enthusiasm.
My favourite character: Wei Wuxian. I usually refuse to choose between the charas of my ship (Example: Guardian) but Wei Wuxian lights up my id *and* my superego and I just cannot pretend Lan Wangji can do that, even though I love him lots.
Favourite episode hahaha, so many. Right now I'm thinking the one with Lan Zhan and Wei Ying escaping from Jinlintai. And of course the one with the monster tortoise. And many others.

Date: 2020-01-03 06:36 pm (UTC)After a couple of days ignoring it, I finally said "fuck it, those guys are pretty, let's take a look". Found two cute guys obviously caring about and protecting each other, which is totally my thing. Went to google if they both were still alive at the end of the show...and well, the rest is history.
My favourite character is Wei Wuxian. I am weak for this type of character, and with Xiao Zhan's looks, I never stood a chance. I'm happy to say that I love many, many, many more characters in this show (contrary to most other shows I watch), and they're all so pretty!
Favourite moments from the show: every time WWX faints or stumbles and LWJ catches him, every time LWJ draws Bichen to defend WWX, every time they say each other's names, all the battle couple moments, every time WWX is super competent with his talisman magic, any interaction between the ducklings and WWX, and so so many more. OMG, I can't even...

This is my very first Xianxia fandom, so I'm inevitably awkward. But I've been making up for it with enthusiasm.
The character that got me hooked was Lan Wangji, but I think I love all of the characters. Almost all. Very nearly all. And I especially love them being messy with each other.
I am also unhealthily pleased every time black tendrils start getting active. Which is unfortunate because I am also physically pained watching them 'play' instruments where they're not even close to the music. It's a tough life. Also I enjoy that you know they're suffering by how much blood is on their lips. Oh, and every time WWX's neck is obscenely red from being strangled or garrotted - especially the time where they consistently had it getting redder every scene for two or three episodes because the bruising kept developing - excellent consistency from the makeup department.
No, wait... My sweet favorite part is the entire paper man super spy adventure!
Well, that's an intro. I now feel like you all know way too much about me.

So it's a pleasant surprise to see that DW has as MDZS/CQL community! It's really great that you created this comm, thank you for that! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
Just wanted to leave this as a first "Hello" - I saw the readalong post, that's a great idea! Gives me a good reason to get out the first book and actually give it a thorough read (I only skimmed the online tl in parts and have operated mainly on CQL canon)! :D
I'm also quite new at writing fanfiction and am often insecure about it, but tumblr really isn't all that helpful for finding betas or - especially - sensitivity readers, because I always feel like I'm, IDK, annoying someone whose dms and ask box are already flooded. ^_^;

I too miss the activity we used to have fandomwise on LJ,it's not the same. But yes, DW is very small compared to that but you find a few select people here who interact a lot,so that's really great. :)
Definitely go for beta-hunting here. Use the tag 'beta request' so that people can find you. :)

Ah it doesn't matter so much if the comm isn't huge like in the "olden days" (I mean, that brought other problems with it...), as long as people interact and you can have a nice group of people to talk to, that's great!
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely do that - rn it's not urgent, luckily. I've got a lovely beta who is very honest and also a good friend, but I think I just... want a second opinion I guess, and I know that comms were always great for writers. :D

I'm not that great and have no actualy idea what I'm doing - it's all trial and error with me. XDIt's fun, though, figuring out how Photoshop worked... XD I've lost all my nice brushes, though - have to check if one of my old backups perhaps still has them. Otherwise, I'll have to go on the hunt again.
