comment_bingo and one of my card prompts was to comment on 3 works by the same author. Since all of them ended up being CQL works, I thought I'd rec them here. All fics are over 100k+ words Canon Divergent AUs and can be great weekend reads :DNie Huaisang was sitting in the aviary, feeling extremely pleased with himself, when Wei Wuxian bounced in and immediately demanded, “Are you trying to steal my shijie?”
“What?” Nie Huaisang blinked at him with pretend innocence. “Wei-xiong, why would you say such a thing?”
“Do you think I’m an idiot? Do you think shijie is an idiot?” Wei Wuxian continued. “I mean, what you’re doing is so blatant that Jin Zixuan noticed, and he is an idiot. So let’s try this again, Nie-xiong – are you trying to steal my shijie and marry her off to your brother?”
“I sure am,” Nie Huaisang said cheerfully. “I mean, who would you rather have to sit with at family dinners, me or Jin Zixun?”

Wei Wuxian managed to sit up. It hurt, but he didn’t feel as light-headed as he had earlier. He looked at his brother, and despite his best efforts, their eyes met. He saw anger and pain and grief, but in that moment there was also a grim understanding. Wei Wuxian hauled himself out of bed and said, “Wen Qing, take your brother and leave through the back. Jiang Cheng and I will stall them.”
“What? No!” Wen Ning protested. “You’re in no shape to - ”
“It doesn’t matter,” Wei Wuxian said. “We’re useless now. We can’t avenge our family. We can’t protect our sister. We can’t do much of anything, but we can buy a few minutes for the two of you to get out of here.”

As the spirit replied in music, the Lans in the room started frowning slightly, clearly confused.
’Two of you have committed wrongdoing’,” the junior said, his concern evident. “What wrongdoing?”
The notes turned even sharper, though the response was short. Immediately, Wei Wuxian could tell there was something off about it. Lan Zhan stiffened, and the kids’ eyes widened, their faces reddening. Lan Sizhui, who was blushing furiously, played the same notes again, as if making sure he’d heard right.

dragongirlgMXTX Diaspora May has been running since 2021. The 2021 iteration was specific to MDZS; in 2022, it expanded to include all of MXTX's works. The focus of this event is to elevate international Chinese diaspora voices through the creation of MXTX-related fanworks and allow Chinese diaspora creators to come together to share the diverse aspects of Chinese culture and connect over lived experiences.
Support of this event will go a long way towards creating a more inclusive and open culture in online communities, especially for creators who rarely get their voices heard in the English-speaking side of fandom. Wei Ying stares down at the photograph with a wistful smile. “These are my parents. I, ah—they passed away a long time ago. Well, you know, everyone knows. Jiang-shushu and Yu-ayi adopted me when I was little. Anyway, my parents were huge fans of Jin Yong, and they’re about my age in this photo. I’m going to the Fan Expo in a couple months and I thought I’d try to dress up as Yang Guo from the Condor Heroes series just like my dad. Is that enough time to make a costume?”
Lan Zhan has no idea how to make a hanfu. But he knows what it’s like to want a piece of your parents, and hope is shining so brightly from Wei Ying’s eyes that he cannot bring himself to utter a refusal.

Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian seem to have forgotten about his presence entirely. He ought to turn and go, but he can't drag his eyes away. There's an odd kind of heat building in the pit of his stomach, and every inch of his skin is burning now, even the areas that didn't come in contact with the powder, and this must be a poison or a curse or something, because Jiang Cheng is definitely, absolutely not getting turned on by the sight of his brother and Lan Wangji making out.
Quietly, Wei Ying picked up the glass and bottle and put them aside, then settled in on the other side of Jiang Cheng, hand coming up to encircle his ankle. Jiang Cheng shifted and made an incomprehensible noise, not quite waking, before quieting again.
"Conference went badly?" Wei Ying asked, voice low. It must have been badly, to cause this kind of reaction.
"Not the conference," Lan Zhan said. "Family dinner afterwards."
dragongirlgWhen Lan Wangji gives himself up to Wen Xu at the Cloud Recesses, he does not expect Wen Xu to take him as a warprize and turn him into his concubine. After escaping during the Qishan Wen Indoctrination, he sacrifices himself once more to ensure Wei Wuxian's safe return to Lotus Pier. Unfortunately, Wen Chao succeeds in taking over Lotus Pier anyway, claiming Wei Wuxian as his own warprize in revenge for killing his lover. Afterward, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji do their best to protect each other in the brief moments that they reunite, while working independently to take down Qishan Wen from the inside.
