New fic: Best (Getting) Laid Plans
Nov. 1st, 2024 10:32 amsunshine304I've finally started posting my new fic! It's Wei Wuxian-centric modern AU inspired by some comments I saw on the ONTD post about Dylan O'Brien announcing his "slut era". XD
The fic is completely written in 5 chapters and currently with my beta. Chapters will be posted as they come back to me, but I'm aiming for once a week.

Jiang Cheng made a face, but Nie Huaisang, who was always up to date with modern slang, nodded wisely upon hearing Wei Ying’s declaration and said, “You’re entering your slut era.”
“Slut era…” Wei Ying murmured, then laughed excitedly. “Love it! Yes! Slut era, here I come! Everyone better beware, I’ll fuck so many people!”

After Wei Ying’s long-term relationship with his girlfriend comes to an end, he decides to enter his “slut era”. Having casual, no-strings-attached sex seems like a great idea.

Mostly that was for myself for writing reference purposes but then I thought it would be fun to post them. I've now posted all 28K of my notes and compiled all my posts into a masterpost. Wangji‘s punishment - thoughts
Feb. 25th, 2024 05:50 pmmekareSo, given that I haven‘t read the extras and haven‘t watched the drama, where things might be portrayed differently, what are your thoughts on Wangji's punishment? Specifically, did it happen with Lan Xichen‘s knowledge and/or consent?
I am of two minds about it. On the one hand I think Lan Xichen would do anything for his brother and probably bend or break rules for him. The Lan Elders probably knew or suspected this and might have gone behind his back, or left some specifics unclear by design.
On the other hand, as sect leader there are such high expectations of setting an example that he might have felt pressured to agree to such a harsh punishment to not be accused of favoritism.
All this is of course leaving out what Wangji himself said/thought about it.
What do you think?

Wei Wuxian managed to sit up. It hurt, but he didn’t feel as light-headed as he had earlier. He looked at his brother, and despite his best efforts, their eyes met. He saw anger and pain and grief, but in that moment there was also a grim understanding. Wei Wuxian hauled himself out of bed and said, “Wen Qing, take your brother and leave through the back. Jiang Cheng and I will stall them.”
“What? No!” Wen Ning protested. “You’re in no shape to - ”
“It doesn’t matter,” Wei Wuxian said. “We’re useless now. We can’t avenge our family. We can’t protect our sister. We can’t do much of anything, but we can buy a few minutes for the two of you to get out of here.”

Summary:
When Lan Wangji gives himself up to Wen Xu at the Cloud Recesses, he does not expect Wen Xu to take him as a warprize and turn him into his concubine. After escaping during the Qishan Wen Indoctrination, he sacrifices himself once more to ensure Wei Wuxian's safe return to Lotus Pier. Unfortunately, Wen Chao succeeds in taking over Lotus Pier anyway, claiming Wei Wuxian as his own warprize in revenge for killing his lover. Afterward, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji do their best to protect each other in the brief moments that they reunite, while working independently to take down Qishan Wen from the inside.

I started writing this fic last December, because I was inspired by René Casselly winning "Ninja Warrior Germany", being the first to achieve total victory here. My mind immediately went, "What if the MDZS characters were on the show? What if WWX participated as a masked competitor after a long break?" and here we are, almost a year later! XD
It is not necessary to know the show, I will provide gif links or explanations where there's need for them. The prologue chapter also has, uhm, extensive notes on the show in general! "X Warrior" ( 极限勇士) was what the show was called in China - the one season that exists of it. XD
