CQL/MDZS Top Fives

I, for one, am in need of comfort reading. Let's make some themed rec lists!

It works just like a prompt meme, except instead of commenting with prompts for fic you hope someone will write, comment with a request for a specific "top five" category, such as Top Five Hurt/Comfort Fics, Top Five Lan Xichen Rarepairs, Top Five Recruiter Vids, etc. Put your request in the TITLE of your comment, and any additional details, squicks, etc. in the comment body.

If you see a prompt and think, "Aha, I've read five brilliant stories that fit that description!" then put your five-item rec list in a REPLY to the prompt comment. Yes? Good.

Also:

• Multiple people may reply to any given prompt.
• You may reply to your own prompt, if you have a rec set all ready to go! I hope you do.
• You may include no more than five recs per comment.
• But if you can't help yourself, you may wiggle around this by replying to a prompt multiple times.
• If the category is really niche, and you have only two recs, poooossst.
• Personally, my favourite part of a rec list is the reccer's notes about why they love a story and what the author does especially well, so feel free to include that sort of advertising pitch. No pressure, though, if you only have time and energy to drop links and run!
• Fic, art, vids, and other fanac all welcome!!!

Be kind, don't damn with faint praise, and feel free to shout, "OH YEAH, I LOVED THAT ONE TOO," at each other in the thread; you might make an author's day. Happy reading! ♥

I want this toooo. It seems like such a good fit, and everybody's sleeping on it!

Can you imagine? The dreamy Spirited Away-esque reincarnation AU where LWJ cultivates to immortality and becomes Gusu's river dragon, and WWX comes back with all his memories locked away...until he visits the Cloud Recesses and takes a dip in the cold pond....

Or the obvious take where their swords are replaced by dragons, or contain dragon spirits or somesuch. Or what if there's a giant, legendary dragon slumbering in the Burial Mounds, which is why nobody dares enter? What if they used to be slaughtered for sport, like in Avatar: The Last Airbender?

All I can think of is pandarus' wonderful Tall Once More in the Spring Wind, which I'm sure you've read (if you do WIPs...do you do WIPs?), and also her Pern AU, which is so delicious it makes me giddy. Pluse there's one fun novella buried somewhere in the tag in which Wen Xu is a vampire of sorts, and kind of incompetently menacing WWX, but (a) the dragon plays a dramatic but sadly minor role at the end and (b) I didn't bookmark it and cannot remember its name. /o\ I will yell in your direction if I find any more!
